Urunga: Man’s body washes up on beach after reportedly being tossed from tinnie on NSW north coast

A man has died after reportedly being thrown from his small boat with his body washing up on a beach on the north coast of NSW.

The man died in the boating incident was reported to emergency services at around 4.30pm on Thursday at Hungry Head Road, Urunga.

Reports that a boat had capsized lead officers attached to Coffs/Clarence Police District, Water Police, Surf Rescue and Ambulance NSW to locate the body of a man, believed to be aged in his 50s, on sand just south of the Bellinger River boardwalk.

Attempts to resuscitate the man were unsuccessful and he died at the scene.

An aluminium boat has been recovered and seized for examination by Coffs Harbour Water Police.
