Villawood Detention Centre: Man charged with murder following death of detainee in Sydney’s south west
A man has been charged with murder following the death of a detainee at a detention centre in Sydney.
Emergency services were called to Villawood Immigration Detention Centre in the city’s south west at 6.35am on Sunday.
A 51-year-old man’s body was discovered with a serious wound.

He was refused bail and is scheduled to appear before Bankstown Local Court on Monday.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
