Bullets have been fired into the bedroom of a family home during a terrifying late-night shooting in Melbourne’s west.

Police said three offenders wearing dark clothing arrived in a silver sedan outside the Powlett St property in Werribee about 9.10pm on Friday, September 5.

The trio fired several shots into the front window before fleeing the scene.

A 23-year-old man, asleep in the bedroom at the time, escaped injury, while the home’s five other occupants, aged between 14 and 51, were also unharmed.

Investigators are exploring whether the attack was specifically targeting one of the teenage residents.

Police have released an image and CCTV of the vehicle used in the shooting and are urging anyone who witnessed the incident, or has dashcam or CCTV footage, to come forward.
