Woman killed, man and two young children injured in Bishops Bridge crash near Newcastle
A woman has died and a man and two young children have been injured in a crash near Newcastle in NSW.
The woman, believed to be aged in her 40s, was driving on Old Maitland Road in Bishops Bridge, west of Maitland, when she crashed with a ute about 2.15pm on Monday.
NSW Police said the woman had been trapped in her car before she was declared dead at the scene.

The driver of the ute, a man in his 30s, and his two young passengers aged one and six were all rushed to John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle with non-life-threatening injuries.
Old Maitland Road, between Majors Lane and Boundary Road, has been closed in both directions, according to police.
Motorists are urged to avoid the area, with delays expected for several hours.
Investigations are continuing.
