The accused appeared on Wednesday at Sutherland Local Court where he was refused bail.

He will appear in the same court on November 19.

Police said they made the discovery after being called for a welfare check.

The woman is believed to be aged in her 40s.

She is yet to be formally identified.

The woman’s cause of death is not yet known.

The usually quiet street connects Hurstville with neighbouring suburb Carlton.

An investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident has been launched.
