One Australian is $50 million richer after buying the only winning ticket in Oz Lotto’s Tuesday jackpot.

The winning numbers for Oz Lotto draw 1608 on Tuesday night were 1, 29, 20, 23, 34, 46 and 39.

The supplementary numbers were 42, 43 and 24.

“At this stage we don’t know a lot — (the ticket) wasn’t registered,” The Lott spokesperson Matt Hart told Sunrise.

The ticket was sold in South Australia and was not registered so officials are unable to contact the winner and are urging people to call friends or family in the state.

“That’s why I couldn’t reach out to them with the $50 million news.”

“We know it was purchased at a South Australian lotteries outlet in the region of the Spencer Gulf.

“It is only a small region but we have to release such details because it is such a big prize. If you don’t mind a belated Christmas gift, it will be icing on the cake.”

“Oz Lotto pays the full amount, tax-free, plonked into your bank account.

“People tell us they keep refreshing their bank account screen before they see that amount and then they take a screen shot of that amount because it will never look that good.”

When players do not register their tickets, they need to ensure they keep them as there is no other record of it.

Australians have been winning big in lotto recent,

In late November, two winning tickets shared in a $100m Powerball jackpot.

Two Rockhampton grandparents and a Melbourne winner both took home $50 million each.

The winning grandparents could not believe they had won when lottery authorities contacted them on Thursday night.

“You’re joking?!” the winning grandmother said as she was told the news of their $50 million windfall in a phone call.

“I expected you to ask if we have solar panels, not to tell us we’ve just won $50 million... I’m in a total state of shock.

“There’s going to be a few more prezzies under the tree on Christmas day.”

She said the couple were looking forward to being able to help the family, though she wasn’t sure they would believe the news.

The mystery ticket holder purchased their ticket at a Tatts outlet in Darebin, Victoria.

The Lott officials are waiting for the Victorian winner to check their ticket and come forward before the prize claim process can start.
