Police have released forage of a teenage boy's final moments before he was suspiciously killed.

A Gold Coast mum has sworn off using public parents’ rooms after a confronting discovery inside a busy shopping centre, with her warning gaining traction online as her video passes 715,000 views.

Lacie, a mother-of-two, said she had stepped into a parents’ room on Wednesday afternoon to warm a bottle when she noticed something unusual in one of the private feeding cubicles. Lying on the floor were a pair of men’s shorts and socks, with no one else around.

“There was no one in there when I walked in, but I saw the pants on the floor and I was like, ‘what the hell?’” she said in the video.

Unsure what she had walked into, Lacie began recording, saying she wanted to capture the moment in case someone was still inside.

“I turned my camera on as soon as I saw it because I was like, is someone in here or what is going on?”

She claims a cleaner entered shortly after and appeared visibly unsettled, using tissues to wipe up what looked like liquid on the floor, though it is not clearly visible in the footage. According to Lacie, the worker nudged the clothing with her foot, revealing they were men’s shorts, and reacted by shaking her head.

“She kicked them… and was just shaking her head in disgust,” Lacie said.

The mum also pointed to a dark mark on a nearby chair but said she could not determine what it was.

The incident left her feeling uneasy, with her mind jumping to worst-case scenarios about why the clothing was there.

“I’m shook. What the hell is going on in the world?”

“The only thing that went through my head when I saw the shorts was ‘pedophile,’ why would a man be in the breastfeeding cubicle of a parents’ room?” she told news.com.au.

“I felt so grossed out and unsafe.”

Lacie further alleged the cleaner told her similar incidents were a “regular” occurrence and warned her about using other parents’ rooms in the centre, though this has not been independently confirmed.

A spokesperson for the shopping centre said the situation was being investigated.

“The safety and security of our community, retailers and partners is our top priority, and whilst no formal complaint was made, we are investigating the circumstances surrounding the video,” they told news.com.au.

Online, the clip has divided opinion. Some parents said it reinforced their concerns about using public facilities, with one saying “I will never go into a parent room for this reason. I always go back to the car”.

Another TikTok user said: “There should be a alarm button in there for parents for help”.

While others questioned whether there could be a more ordinary explanation for what was found.

Several users pointed out it was unclear why the clothing had been left behind, while others suggested it could have been linked to a messy nappy situation or another non-sinister scenario.

Despite the speculation, Lacie said the experience has put her off parents’ rooms entirely, saying she no longer feels comfortable using the spaces.
