Parramatta fatality: Man shot dead in Sydney, gunman on the run

A gunman remains on the run in Western Sydney this morning after a man in his twenties was killed in a shooting attack.

A man has been fatally shot in Sydney’s west with the alleged gunman still on the run.

Police and paramedics were called to Harold St, Parramatta just after 3.30am on Monday following reports of a shooting.

A man was treated at the scene, however, did not survive.

He is believed to be 29 years old and has not yet been formally identified.

“Officers attached to Parramatta Police Area Command have established a crime scene, which will be examined by specialist forensic police,” NSW Police said.

Police are also investigating if a car fire 4km away from the shooting is linked to the incident.

A stolen sedan was found alight about 3.45am.

Two men were reportedly seen leaving the scene in another vehicle.

“As inquiries continue, it’s not known if the two incidents are connected, however, the fire is being treated as suspicious,” police said
