Melbourne train stabbing: Teenage girl, 16, hospitalised in alleged attack

Four teenagers between the ages of 14 to 16 have been arrested after the alleged stabbing and robbery of another teenage girl on a train on Monday night.

Emergency Services were called to Batman Station after reports of a stabbing in Coburg North just after 8.30pm.

A 16-year-old girl was taken to the Royal Melbourne Hospital with upper body injuries in a stable condition.

Police arrested four teenagers a short distance away, and after a search of the area found a knife that had allegedly been dumped.

A 15-year-old from Greater Geelong was charged with armed robbery, intentionally causing injury, using a controlled weapon and assault with a weapon.

She has been bailed and is due to face the Children’s Court at a later date.

The other teenagers allegedly involved, a 14-year-old girl from Melton, a 14-year-old boy from Brimbank and a 16-year-old boy from Hume, have also been released and are expected to be charged on summons.
