Teenage girl, 15, fights for life after group crashes alleged stolen car and leave her in wreck at Warranwood

A group of teenagers have crashed a stolen car leaving one of the group fighting for life after the incident.

Police and emergency services had to deal with the horrific crash scene as well as try to round up the other occupants who fled leaving the remaining occupant in the wreck.

The group of teenagers were eventually arrested after allegedly driving a stolen car before colliding with another vehicle in Warranwood, leaving a young girl with life-threatening injuries.

The stolen Toyota Camry collided with a Lexus SUV at the intersection of Wonga and Delaneys roads at about 8.45 am on Friday.

Four occupants of the Toyota were seen fleeing the scene while a 15-year-old Ringwood girl was found inside the car and taken to hospital.

The occupants of the Lexus were uninjured.

Responding police arrested the other four teenagers a short distance away from the collision scene.

Checks revealed the Toyota had allegedly been stolen from Flora Hill overnight on September 25.

A 17-year-old Flora Hill boy has subsequently been charged with nine offences including dangerous driving causing serious injury, theft of the motor vehicle, theft of the motor vehicle, intentionally causing injury, attempted theft of the motor vehicle, assault with a weapon and failing to assist at an accident.

A 16-year-old Mooroolbark boy has been charged with theft of the motor vehicle and failing to assist in an accident.

Both will face a children’s court at a later date.

A 13-year-old Epsom boy and a 13-year-old Flora Hill boy were released pending summons.
