Queensland driver refused bail after wild chase through Sydney's east
A Queensland man remains behind bars after his bail bid was rejected.
A wild chase came to a dramatic end on Saturday when a man and woman allegedly hit a police car, but not before they tore across suburbs, veered onto a golf course and even tried hiding in a family’s front yard.
The driver, from Queensland, was behind bars on Sunday night after his bid for bail was shut down.

It was a last-ditch attempt at escape after a dangerous chase through Sydney’s east while families were out for Halloween.
It started when the 38-year-old man behind the wheel allegedly failed to pull over for a breath test on Anzac Pde.
Police say the driver reached more than 100km/h in a 50 zone and was on the wrong side of the road, flying down Austral St, then Bilga Cr, before attempting to ditch the car on the course.
But it wasn’t over yet.
Fleeing on foot, the man attempted to hide in a front yard, but a second car was already on the way.
“There was a man lying on the ground, underneath the hedge and the wall,” witness Gillian Oliver said. “A little white car screeched up, stopped. The guy got up, got into the car and then they drove up Anzac Parade on the wrong side of the road.”
The chase finally came to an end on Soul Arch Ave, where the duo were cornered, allegedly reversing the hatchback into a police car before they were arrested.
Christopher Perry, a 38-year-old concreter from Queensland, is facing five charges, including dangerous driving while Sanara Rogers, 45, faces one count of resisting police.
