A group of people have watched in horror as a man fell to his death from the balcony of a Brisbane apartment they were in.

The 20-year-old man died after a seven-storey fall from the high-rise apartment complex in South Brisbane.

Emergency services were called to the Halo Residences on Manning Street, adjacent to the Skyneedle, at about midnight on Sunday.

The man was found with life-threatening injuries and died at the scene.

It’s believed he was with a group of people on a unit balcony when he fell.

A crime scene was declared and officers remained at the site until 6am on Monday.

The death is not being treated as suspicious. Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
