Brassall: Driver killed after reportedly losing control of truck and colliding with cattle truck and car

A driver has reportedly lost control of his light truck and has been killed after a horrific collision with a cattle truck and a car.

Police are investigating the fatal truck crash near Brassall on Tuesday.

Initial investigations indicated that at about 12.45pm the light truck was travelling east on the Warrego Highway when it lost control and was struck by a B-double cattle truck and a car.

The driver of the light truck, a 56-year-old Marsden man, died at the scene with no one else was seriously injured in the major collision.

The Warrego Highway was closed for a number of hours and reopened about 1am on Wednesday morning.

The B-double truck was carrying cattle and due to the crash, a number of animals had to be euthanised.

Forensic Crash Unit investigations are continuing.
