Caboolture, Queensland: Man shot dead by police after stabbing another man, threatening woman

A man has been shot dead by police after a stabbing that left another man in a serious condition.

Police were called to the intersection of Beerburrum Road and Commercial Drive in Caboolture shortly before 3.45am on Tuesday following reports a man had been stabbed.

The offender fled the scene before officers arrived.

A short time later, police located the armed offender threatening a female approximately a kilometre away on Margaret Street, leading the officer to discharge a firearm.

The man died at the scene, while the female was left unharmed.

The stabbing victim was rushed to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with a wound to the neck.

The matter is now being investigated by the Ethical Standards Command, with oversight from the Crime and Corruption Commission and State Coroner.

Investigations are ongoing.
