A Public Safety Preservation Act declaration has been made in Queensland, as police deal with an “incident” south of Brisbane.

Queensland Police officers “are on scene and dealing with an incident in Logan Central”, they said on Sunday afternoon.

“As a result a declaration has been made under the provisions of the public safety preservation act,” police said.

An exclusion zone has been declared encompassing Baringa Ave, Laconia St, Waitara St and Moore St.

“Residents are encouraged to stay inside their dwellings and will be notified when the incident resolves,” police said.

“There is no threat to public safety.”
