A young woman has been charged after faking pregnancies to allegedly swindle her dates out of cash on the Gold Coast.

Police allege the 25-year-old Tugun woman met two men online before starting short-term relationships with them between January and March on separate occasions.

She is accused of then stalking the 37-year-old Kingaroy man and the 31-year-old Tara man, bombarding them with messages claiming she was pregnant and demanding money for medical expenses.

It is also alleged she even sent fake ultrasound scans and medical documents months later, claiming she had given birth and needed more cash.

The woman has been charged with 16 offences, including five counts of fraud, four counts each of forgery and uttering, and one count of stalking. She was also charged with two drug-related offences.

She remains behind bars and is due to reappear in Southport Magistrates Court on September 19.

Police believe there may be more victims, particularly across the Gold Coast, and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
