Hervey Bay siege: Police arrest knife-wielding man after 18-hour standoff
An armed man who was making threats at a Queensland coastal town has been taken into custody after 18 hours of negotiations with police.
Officers were called to speak with a man armed with a knife at an Urangan property, in Hervey Bay north of Brisbane, at about noon on Monday.
Police arrived to find the man alone making threats and began negotiations.

The man was taken into custody at 6.44am on Tuesday.
He was taken to hospital with a non-life threatening injury and is helping police with their investigation.
The emergency declaration for the area has now been revoked.
