Police investigating the death of a 49-year-old Queensland woman in a shocking lawnmower incident have revealed they are trying to track down women all over the world who may know the victim’s husband.

Frances Elizabeth Crawford (49) was killed on July 30 during an incident involving a ride-on lawnmower at a Thomas Road property in Lockyer Valley, west of Brisbane.

Mrs Crawford was found at the bottom of a retaining wall in the backyard of the property.

On Friday, Queensland Police regional crime coordinator Det-Supt. George Marchesini said police now believed Mrs Crawford was murdered and that there were a number of people who could help with the investigation.

“We are particularly interested in speaking with people who knew of Frances or Robert Crawford and their personal circumstances, including their marriage,” he said.

“We believe there were women who were involved in relationships with Mr Crawford who may have information about Mrs Crawford that will assist with this investigation. Mr Crawford may have met these women on dating applications, and through his personal and professional life.”

“Investigations have revealed Mr Crawford has connected with women in Italy, United States of America, Papua New Guinea, Guam, Afghanistan, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand, Western Australia, Australian Capital Territory, Northern Territory, New South Wales, Victoria, and Queensland.”

No arrests have been made in the case.

Det-Supt. Marchesini said he was confident there were people out there with “significant” information.

A Queensland Police statement revealed several people had already come forward to help.

“The past few months have been extremely challenging for Frances’s family and her children, who are desperate for answers, and it’s time for those with information, no matter how small, to come forward,” Det-Supt. Marchesini said.

Anyone with information that can assist and who has connections with the address or Mrs Crawford or Mr Crawford — as a couple or outside of the marriage — is encouraged to come forward.
