Major update in Tallebudgera shooting investigation as ‘important’ evidence found

A woman is still fighting for her life in hospital as important evidence was uncovered during the investigations into a serious shooting on the Gold Coast last week.

Linley Anyos, 33, was found next to a car, in a pool of blood with a single gunshot wound to the centre of her back on Trees Rd in Tallebudgera, just after midday on Wednesday.

She was treated for her serious injuries at the scene and was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital, where she remains in a critical condition.

Police said at the time that Anyos had been sitting in the passenger seat of a car and had been shot through the back of the seat.

In the first major update since the shooting, police on Monday released a photo of a white, HINO, Ranger Series truck believed to be connected to the shooting.

Police confirmed it had been found abandoned on Monday morning at Nerang Connection Rd, near Palings Crt, at Nerang.

“This is an important piece of the investigation, however, we continue to seek any witnesses who may have seen or heard anything unusual in the area or visited the property at Trees Road on that day to come forward,” Mooney said.

“Your information, no matter how minor it may seem, could be crucial in helping police with this investigation.”

Police said the circumstances surrounding how Anyos was shot remain under investigation.
