Man fighting for life after near-drowning incident at WhiteWater World

A man has been rushed to hospital after a near drowning incident at WhiteWater World on the Gold Coast.

Paramedics were called to a “post-immersion incident” involving a guest in the Cave of Waves pool about 2pm on Friday.

The man in his 30s was treated at the scene and is in a critical condition at Gold Coast University Hospital.

Dreamworld, owner of WhiteWater World, acknowledged the incident in a statement shortly after.

“Our highly trained lifeguards responded immediately, and Queensland Ambulance Service attended the scene promptly,” it said.

“The safety and wellbeing of our guests and team members is our highest priority, and we are assisting emergency services as required.”
