A man has been killed in a scissor lift incident at a workplace in Upper Coomera on the Gold Coast.

A man has died after becoming trapped between a scissor lift and a ceiling at a Gold Coast workplace.

The man, whose age was not provided by authorities, died at the construction site on Days Rd in Upper Coomera about 9.10am on Monday.

Emergency services were called to the scene when the man became trapped between the mechanical scissor lift and the ceiling.

He was able to be freed before Queensland Fire and Emergency Services arrived.

Paramedics assessed his life-threatening injuries but the man could not be saved.

The incident is being treated as a workplace incident, however police’s forensic crash unit is investigating.

The site is the location for new buildings for high school Coomera Anglican College.

Investigations continue.
