A man is fighting for life after a horror crash left a car split in half south of Brisbane.

Emergency services were called to the corner of Chambers Flat Rd and Bunstead Rd at Logan Reserve about 9.21am on Monday, where a car had smashed into a pole, splitting the vehicle down the centre.

Paramedics treated a man at the scene for multiple critical injuries.

He was rushed to Princess Alexandra Hospital in a potentially life-threatening condition.

Photos and videos from the crash were shared on a Logan community group, with locals expressing shock at the extent of the damage.

“Drove past this earlier. My heart dropped when I saw the damage,” one person said.

“One of the wheels was on the medium strip, it looked horrible,” said another.
