North Lakes: Man shot in chest in suburban carpark rushed to hospital in serious condition

A man has been rushed to hospital after being shot in the chest in a suburban carpark.

Police were called to assist after reports the man was shot following an incident in North Lakes on Monday night.

Initial information indicated that at around 9.40pm, all emergency services were called to a carpark on Lakefield Drive following reports of a potential shooting.

On arrival police and ambulance officers found a 42-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the chest.

He was the transported to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

A crime scene was declared and preliminary investigations indicated there was no further threat to public safety.
