A woman in one of the vehicles was taken to Lismore Base Hospital with minor injuries.

None of the soldiers in the truck were injured, and there was no damage to the truck.

The ADF is currently assisting the SES with the impacts of ex-tropical cyclone Alfred.

One soldier remained in hospital on Monday morning, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese told 7NEWS Sunrise.

“There’s still one person in hospital, a soldier, and we wish him a speedy recovery. But everyone else has been discharged from hospital, and that is certainly good news,” Albanese said.

Albanese was quizzed by Sunrise host Nat Barr about the condition of the soldier who suffered spinal injuries.

“Have you got an update on his condition?” Barr asked.

Albanese: “He is stable and it’s certainly not life-threatening.

“But for privacy reasons, we’ll respect that.

“But everyone else has been discharged from hospital. We certainly wish him and his family all the best over the coming period, and we’re very hopeful of a full recovery.”

Most evacuation areas have been lifted in Lismore as water levels fall, after coming close to breaching the town’s levee.

However, the Clarence and Richmond Rivers are being closely monitored despite falling water levels, with heavy rain expected on Monday.

Less than 10,000 homes were without power and more than 10,000 people are subject to emergency warnings.

About 1800 residents were isolated by floodwaters.

A 55-year-old man was rescued from floodwaters on Monday about 9.15am, after attempting to cross a flooded section of Caniaba Rd in Loftville.

He has since been charged with middle-range Prescribed Concentration of Alcohol (PCA) after returning a positive result to a breath test at the scene of the incident.

“He was taken to Casino Police Station where he was subject to a breath analysis which returned an alleged reading of 0.086,” NSW Police said.

The man was issued a Field Court Attendance Notice for driving with middle-range PCA to appear before Lismore Local Court on March 19.

His licence was also suspended.
