Two killed, six more injured in horrific highway truck crash at Tregony, west of the Gold Coast
Two people have died of critical injuries in a serious truck crash at Tregony, 145km west of Queensland’s Gold Coast.
Six other people were injured in the Cunningham Hwy smash near the Cunninghams Gaps Picnic area about 2.20am on Thursday.
“The driver and a passenger in one of the trucks died at the scene,” Queensland Police said.

Four were taken to Ipswich Hospital and two were taken to Warwick Hospital, Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) said.
“Two trucks were travelling in opposite directions along the Cunningham Hwy when they crashed, causing both trucks to rollover,” Queensland Police said.
Multiple QAS units and a rescue helicopter were sent to the scene, where investigations are ongoing.
The section of the highway has been closed to all traffic, and motorists are urged to expect “long delays”, QLD Traffic said.
“Turn around locations for light and heavy vehicles at Fisher Park for eastbound traffic and Lake Moogerah Rd for westbound traffic.
“Seek alternative route.”
