Eight lucky Australians have had their lives changed at the weekend, winning more than $660,000 by claiming a share of Saturday night’s division one Lotto draw.

The eight winners of Lotto draw 4503 included three in Queensland, two each in South Australia and Victoria, and one in New South Wales. They will each pocket $660,110.33.

Among the winners is a father-daughter duo from Belmont, in southern Geelong, whose 20-year-old TattsLotto tradition delivered the good news they so desperately needed.

“I’ve recently been diagnosed with stage four cancer, so not only will this help with treatments, but it will just allow me to enjoy life more,” the winning daughter told The Lott officials when they called to confirm the win.

“I’ve had some really hard times, but this is going to make life so much easier.”

Her father said the pair had been playing for 20 years, and he “almost had a heart attack” when he saw their numbers matching up on Saturday night.

“I saw we had three numbers, then we had four and then there was a fifth and then a sixth!” the retiree said.

“I was getting excited to even have three numbers.”

The pair checked their ticket on Sunday morning and said they had been in disbelief since.

The winning dad said winning a share of the division one prize was a “dream come true”. He said they would share the prizemoney with their family.

The owner of Belmont Lucky Lotto, where the winning ticket was purchased, Bryan Leat said it was “lovely news” for the pair.

“This is our second division one winning entry in six years, and we couldn’t be happier to have sold a division one winning entry to a local family,” he said.

A man from the Yorke Peninsula in South Australia also claimed a share of the division one prize, much to his disbelief.

“I received an email from The Lott to let me know that I’m a winner, and I just thought to myself, ‘Oh yeah. I’ve probably won division three or four’,” he told The Lott.

“I spent about five minutes trying to figure out how much I’d won and when I eventually realised, I was in complete disbelief.”

The winning numbers in TattsLotto draw 4503 on September 14, were 6, 32, 38, 22, 14 and 34, while the supplementary numbers were 19 and 41.

The winning Kadina man, one of two winners in SA, said he played the same numbers every week because “they’re very special to me”.

He said the prize money would make his life “so much easier” after going through some “tough times” recently.

“It’s come at the most perfect time. It will help my family so much,” he said.

The Yorke and mid-North region has proven particularly lucky in 2024, with six major winning entries that have claimed more than $5.61 million in prize money, according to The Lott.

This latest winning ticket was purchased at Royal Exchange Hotel in Kadina. It was a huge moment for publican Janine Pomery, who said she and her team were “thrilled” for the winner.

“This is our eighth year at Royal Exchange Hotel and we haven’t sold a division one winning entry until the weekend,” Ms Pomery said.

“We’ll be celebrating this wondrous news all week and we hope our division one winner is too. Congratulations to them and we wish them all the best with their amazing prize.”
