Elderly woman dies after she was seen struggling in water at Mawson Lakes in Adelaide
An elderly woman has died after she was pulled from the water at Mawson Lakes, in Adelaide’s northern suburbs, on Tuesday.
The 76-year-old woman was seen struggling in Shearwater Lake, near Shearwater Dr, by a witness who called triple-0 about 8.30pm.

They performed CPR on the woman on a nearby footpath before she was taken to hospital.
She died in hospital on Wednesday morning.
The woman is local to the area and regularly walks around the lake, 7NEWS understands.
The death is not believed to be suspicious, SA Police said.


The woman’s son, who also lives near the lake, told The Advertiser he was taking a shower and was unaware his mother was in danger until he saw emergency services, went outside for a closer look and recognised her.
The outlet also reported the 76-year-old woman may have dropped her phone into the lake and tried to retrieve it.
