The parents of the missing South Australian four-year-old have released an emotional statement and video as investigations continue into his disappearance.
The parents of missing four-year-old Gus Lamont have made a renewed public plea for information as investigations continue into his disappearance from South Australia’s Mid North last September.
In a statement issued through SA Police, Josh and Jess Lamont said they remain united in their grief and desperate for answers about what happened to their young son.
“Our lives have been shattered, and every moment without him is unbearable,” they said.

“If someone knows what happened, we are pleading with that person — or anyone who may have seen or heard anything — to please come forward.”
The couple expressed their gratitude to police officers, emergency services personnel and the many volunteers who have assisted in the extensive search efforts over recent months.
“The tireless efforts of police, emergency services, ADF personnel, volunteers, and specialists have meant more to us than we can ever say.
“To the friends, family and supporters who have shown such compassion, concern, and assistance during this heartbreaking time: thank you. Your kindness has helped carry us through the darkest days of our lives.”
The grieving parents closed their appeal by saying, “All we want is to bring Gus home and understand what happened to our beautiful boy”.
Gus was last seen on September 27, police were told that he was last seen playing outside the main homestead while his grandmother cared for his younger brother inside.
Since Gus’s disappearance the surrounding areas have seen armies of emergency service personnel, the ADF and volunteers scouring vast areas of bushland, with the SA Government making a firm commitment to continue the search to solve one of Australia’s most perplexing missing person’s cases.
“The major crime investigation focuses on the property at Yunta, but we made it clear during the initial search phase that we had literally hundreds of people on the property searching every square inch within 2.5km of the residence,” SAPOL Commissioner Grant Stevens said.
As part of the renewed appeal, Gus’ parents have also shared a new photograph and video of their son in the hope it may prompt fresh information from the public.
