Man behind alleged random attack on woman in Adelaide CBD identified as he faces court for assault
A man involved in Sunday’s random attack in the Adelaide CBD has been identified following his first court appearance, with his lawyers not seeking bail.
Scott Antrobus is accused of assaulting a 42-year-old woman around 1:30pm on Sunday in Rundle Mall.

An unidentified man is then seen jumping between Antrobus and the woman, knocking him to the ground.
Bystanders jumped into action as well, apprehending the man while they waited for police to arrive.

Shoppers today in Rundle Mall were shocked at the footage, and some remain in fear that it could happen to them.
One woman telling 7NEWS that she is terrified.
“Absolutely terrified, I was thinking about that (the violent incident) walking down the mall, like I am now, how it could just happen to me,” she said.
One man also said that the violence was ‘out of control’ in Adelaide.
“It’s just not acceptable at all, it’s out of control and not acceptable,” he said.
The footage then shows the man quickly becoming aggressive during his arrest - with members of the public again stepping in to detain him.

Speaking to the media today, shadow minister for community safety, police and correctional services, Jack Batty said that everyone during ‘Mad March’ deserves to be protected.
“All South Australians deserve to go out to the city and enjoy Mad March without fearing they might be the next innocent victim of some mad attack,” he said.
The 42-year-old woman from North Adelaide was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries — her daughter was uninjured.
Police said the pair were not known to each other.
Antrobus now faces a number of charges, including assault causing harm and resisting arrest.
He will reappear in court at a later date.
