SA woman to face court after toddler critically injured when hit by car

An 83-year-old woman will face court over alleged driving offences after a toddler was hit and ended up in hospital with critical injuries.

South Australia Police allege the 23-month-old girl, Edie, was run over by a car when she suddenly ran across Tasman Tce in Port Lincoln on August 29 at 5.30pm.

Edie was rushed to hospital but has since been discharged.

Following a police investigation, the 83-year-old local woman was reported for aggravated driving without due care.

She will be summonsed to appear in court at a later date.
