All have been charged with attempted murder after an innocent victim was shot.

Six alleged members of a notorious gang have been charged with attempted murder over the shooting of a teenager in what police believe was a case of mistaken identity.

The 18-year-old was injured when shots were fired through a closed bedroom roller shutter window of a home in Andrews Farm, in Adelaide’s northern suburbs, on December 16, 2024.

Acting Assistant Commissioner John DeCandia said three shots were fired from two different guns, one of which was seized nearby in the hours after the shooting.

“It was confirmed in the early stages of the investigation that the (alleged) offenders had attended the wrong address and shot a person with no links to these people whatsoever,” he said.

The 18-year-old victim, who was shot in the leg, has since made a full recovery, police said.

Despite the mistaken address, DeCandia said police believe the attack was “extensively planned”.

Six males — three 17-year-olds, two 19-year-olds and a 21-year-old — were arrested on Thursday after police investigators searched seven addresses, DeCandia said.

DeCandia said police will allege the accused are linked to the 051 street gang and that their intended target was from the rival KBS gang.

“As a result of the searches, several mobile phones have been seized and police located a firearm which is suspected to have been used in previous shootings,” he said.

“A large quantity of tablets suspected of containing MDMA were also located.”

All six males were charged with attempted murder and refused bail to appear in court on Friday.

One 17-year-old from Munno Para was further charged with possession of the prescribed firearm and related ammunition offences, while a 21-year-old from Munno Para West was also charged with trafficking a commercial quantity of a controlled drug.
