Young man injured in machete attack on Murray St, Gawler

A young man has suffered injuries to his arm when he was set upon by a man wielding a machete early Monday morning.

The 22-year-old was walking down Murray St, Gawler when he was approached then allegedly assaulted by three men at about 12.10am.

One of the men was allegedly wielding a machete and the Gawler South man suffered a serious injury to his arm in the incident.

His injuries are not considered life-threatening and he has since been released.

Police said the attack was “not believed to be random”.

The street was closed as police investigated, however, 7NEWS understands the victim is not being co-operative.
