Tasmanian man charged with attempted murder of police officers after incident at home in Forest
A man has been charged with attempted murder and arson after he allegedly tried to kill police officers at his home in Tasmania’s northwest.
The incident began when a notification from an electric monitoring device prompted police to visit the home in the rural town of Forest on Wednesday morning.
Fire services were called to the property not long afterwards as a blaze erupted inside the home.

He was taken to the North-West Regional Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
The man was later charged with three counts of attempted murder in relation to the fire and “actions he allegedly took against attending officers,” Tasmania Police said.
No police officers were injured during the incident.
The man was also charged with arson and five counts of breaching an interim family violence order.
He is due to reappear in the Devonport Magistrates Court on Friday.
