A teenager was shot in the leg in Sydney‘s southwest on Friday night, with police launching an investigation after the teen refused to cooperate.

The 17-year-old, alongside an 18-year-old man, presented to the emergency department of Bankstown Hospital about 7.40pm with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his right leg.

Police attended the hospital however both men refused to provide information about what happened.

The 18-year-old man was then arrested for concealing an indictable offence, with police alleging he assaulted and injured two officers and resisted arrest.

“He was taken to Bankstown Police Station where it will be further alleged that he made a number of threats towards officers,” NSW Police said.

The teenager was charged with several offences including concealing a serious indictable offence, intimidating a police officer and assaulting a police officer.

He was refused bail and is to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Saturday.

Following an investigation, police seized a Blue Nissan Pulsar that was parked on the corner of Eldridge Rd and Artegall St in Bankstown.

It’s believed the two teens used the car to drive to the hospital.

Anyone who has any dashcam/mobile phone footage of the car arriving at the location, or any information about the shooting, to contact Bankstown Police Station or Crime Stoppers.
