Three people have survived a fire that destroyed a house at Upper Coomera.

Three people have fled a fire that destroyed a house on the Gold Coast.

The fire broke out at the Denise Dr home in Upper Coomera about 2am on Tuesday.

The cause of the blaze is yet to be determined.

But the trio, all adults, who escaped told firefighters an electric scooter was being charged as the fire erupted.

Multiple firefighting crews took about two-and-a-half hours to bring the fire under control.

They prevented it spreading to neighbouring houses.
