There are fears the plastic domes filled with small balls to create the rattle will separate from the soft toy, causing the small parts to fall out.

Young children are at serious risk of injury or choking to death if they put the balls in their mouths, and parents are urged to return the product.

“Stop using the product immediately and keep out of reach of children,” the recall notice warns.

The soft activity ball was sold in stores across and country and online from August 3 to October 18.

Customers can return the item to the place of purchase for a refund or call Kmart Australia on 1800 124 125.
