Erin Patterson's sentence for mushroom murder to be broadcast live in Victorian Supreme Court first
History will be made in the Victorian Supreme Court on Monday morning when a TV camera is allowed to broadcast the sentencing of mushroom murderer Erin Patterson for the first time.
At 9.30am, Justice Christopher Beale will reveal how long the triple murderer will spend behind bars in a groundbreaking live broadcast.
In July, a jury found the 50-year-old guilty of serving four members of her estranged husband’s family a meal laced with death cap mushrooms in 2023.

Patterson had pleaded not guilty to the murder and attempted murder charges, with her defence team arguing the deaths were an accident.
For the first time in Victorian Supreme Court history, a judge will allow a camera to film and broadcast the sentencing proceedings live to the public.
Monday’s livestream will operate with just a 10-second delay, with only Justice Beale shown on screen during the broadcast.
Justice Beale’s sentence is expected to take 30 minutes.
