Man, 24, left fighting for life after alleged assault, stabbing by group in Footscray, Melbourne

A man has been left fighting for life in an alleged stabbing attack in Melbourne overnight.
A 24-year-old man was on Albert St in Footscray when he was allegedly approached by a group of people who assaulted and stabbed him about 9.20pm on Friday.
The group then fled the scene, according to police.

“The area was cordoned off, and a crime scene established with officers from the Major Crime Scene Unit to attend the scene,” police said.
“At this early stage, it is unclear whether the people involved were known to one another.”
