A Melbourne man shot and critically injured just metres from his home earlier this month has been identified, as police continue their investigation into the incident and appeal for help from the public.

The 36-year-old remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries.

A 28-year-old woman was also arrested but released pending further enquiries.
Police are now on the hunt for a man they believe can help with their continued investigation into the shooting.
It’s believed the man was also involved in an aggravated home invasion earlier the same day in Raymond Avenue, Frankston.
“Investigators believe this incident was linked,” police said.
The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, between 18-25 years old, with a lean build, light brown hair and a distinctive tattoo on the outside of his lower right leg.
Police have released CCTV images of the man in which he can be seen wearing a black hoodie and a mask.
‘It just looked really horrific’
Neighbours, including a nurse, rushed to help Jesse after he was found lying on the road.
“He’d been shot through the head. One eye was looking at me,” witness Edgard Proy told 7NEWS at the time.
“He was trying to breathe — it just looked really horrific.”
Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Dave Shannon said the shooting had been “devastating” for Jesse, who has been left with “life-altering” injuries.
Shannon pleaded for anyone who recognises the man in the images to come forward.
“We ask that people look closely at the images and the CCTV and if you have any information, please come forward and speak to police and as always, this can be done anonymously via Crime Stoppers.”
