There are “grave concerns” for a Melbourne woman who has been missing for four weeks, with police unable to track her movements despite extensive enquiries.

Debbra McKenzie, 41, was last seen at her home on Springfield Cres in Hampton Park about 3.30pm on December 17.

She left home without any bags, keys, clothes or her wallet and does not own a mobile phone.

Those known to McKenzie first noticed she was missing on Christmas Eve but did not file a report with police until New Year’s Eve.

Detective Senior Sergeant Jarrod Dwyer said the person who reported her missing was someone she lived with and with whom she had been in a relationship, however it was unclear if they were still together.

Police have released CCTV of McKenzie walking along Springfield Cres on Tuesday, December 17.

Dwyer said just before the footage McKenzie had been having a “discussion with an associate” and walked away from her home “of her own free will”.

Police have no idea where McKenzie was headed and have not been able to determine a motive or reason for her disappearance.

It’s believed she was in the process of moving out of her Springfield Cres home but it’s unclear to where she was moving.

While police do not have any evidence that she has been met with foul play, Dwyer said the length of time she has been missing is of great concern.

“We always hold grave concerns in relation to anybody who’s missing for a prolong period of time,” he said.

“Once that period is reaching out towards a month and we’ve had no sightings or information come in, it elevates our concerns dramatically.

“‘We’ve got no reason to believe at this point that any significant threats were made against her but we are not ruling that out.”

Dwyer said McKenzie has not attended any of her regular or scheduled appointments and hasn’t accessed her bank account which he said was “unusual” for someone missing for that long.

The fact that she has no phone has also made the task of locating her or tracking her movements difficult.

“Debbra doesn’t have a digital footprint that we would normally see with a lot of people this day and age,” Dwyer said.

NSW Police have been assisting with the investigation, checking McKenzie’s known associates in the state’s south.

Dwyer said her associates have been cooperative but somewhat reluctant to provide full details.

“In the circles that she has been associating in recently, there’s a lack of trust towards police,” he said.

She is also estranged from her family and they have not heard from her since her birthday last year.

McKenzie has been known to frequent the suburbs of Doveton, Dandenong and Hampton Park.

Further CCTV released by police shows McKenzie walking in the vicinity of Dandenong Plaza on Monday December, 16 about 5.10pm.

She is described as about 175cm tall with a slim build and black, shoulder-length hair.

She was last seen wearing black leggings and a white striped top.

Anyone who sights McKenzie should call triple-0 and anyone with any information about her whereabouts is urged to call Crime Stoppers.
