Roxburgh Park: Driver found with suspected gunshot wound after crashing through park fence

A man is fighting for his life after being found with a suspected gunshot wound following a crash in Melbourne’s north on Sunday evening.

Police were called to Roxburgh Park around 7pm after a white Toyota couple drove through a park fence and crashed into a tree near the corner of Donald Cameron Drive and Bridgewater Road.

Along with injuries believed to have been sustained from the crash, the 30-year-old driver from Reservoir, had a suspected gunshot wound to the lower body.

A 26-year-old woman from Kalkallo was also in the vehicle and was taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

“The exact circumstances surrounding the matter are yet to be determined but police believe this is a targeted incident,” a Victoria Police spokesperson said.

Armed Crime Squad detectives were called to the scene to investigate the incident.
