Homicide detectives are investigating the death of a one-year-old in Victoria last week.

The baby boy was found unresponsive at a home in Sebastopol, a suburb on the rural-urban fringe of Ballarat, on November 4.

He was taken to hospital by his mother and her partner. Tragically, medical staff were unable to save him and the boy died in a Melbourne hospital two days later.
