Thomastown shooting: Three arrests made after Daniel Hussein shot dead in Victoria
Victoria Police have arrested three people, including two teenagers, over a shooting that killed 22-year-old Daniel Hussein.
Victoria Police have arrested three people, including two teenagers, over a shooting that killed 22-year-old Daniel Hussein in Thomastown on Sunday night.
Two Donnybrook men, aged 19 and 20, and a 19-year-old woman from Lalor were arrested in Melbourne’s western suburb of Deer Park at 5.30pm on Wednesday.
A statement by Victoria Police revealed the three young adults are being interviewed by the Homicide Squad.

By continuing you agree to our Terms and Privacy Policy.The arrests come three days after Mr Hussein was shot in the chest in the carpark of HR Uren Reserve on Victoria Drive at 7.30pm on Sunday.
Mr Hussein is believed to have been heading to the carpark to assist his friends who were involved in a brawl with another group.
The two groups had been involved in an ongoing altercation that started in the Melbourne CBD on Friday 4 September.
In a phone call to his family minutes before the fatal shooting, Mr Hussein expressed concerns over being followed by a black Porsche with no license plates.
Mr Hussein’s brother, Ali, told The Age that Hussein had not become involved in the altercation.
“His friend got into a brawl and called my brother. My brother pulled up [in his car] and they shot my brother. His car was still running,” he said.
Paramedics responded to the scene but were unable to revive Mr Hussein as he died in front of his friends.
The victim’s family described Mr Hussein as a good soul, uninvolved in criminal activities, who was only months away from getting married.
Mr Hussein was a plumber who had recently bought a house and become engaged to his partner.
“He had his whole life ahead of him,” Mr Hussein’s brother said at the scene of the shooting earlier this week.
Mr Hussein’s father expressed his sorrow on the day of his son’s death.
“My son was killed on Father’s Day and my birthday,” Mr Hussein’s father told 7NEWS.
Tributes flowed from loved ones as uncle, Abdallah Hussein, took to social media to write a memorial post to Mr Hussein.
“I still cannot understand that I will never see your smile again, never hear your voice, never watch you walk through that door again,” Abdallah wrote.
