Underworld-linked home of Suleiman ‘Sam’ Abdulrahim among four suspect fires that raged across Melbourne

A home linked to a notorious underworld figure is among four properties set ablaze in suspicious fires across Melbourne.
Firefighters were called to a home in Larch Street, Thomastown about 3am on Monday.
Flames were seen coming from the double-storey home, with the 29 firefighters containing the blaze to the front two bedrooms on the first floor.

The property is reportedly linked to underworld figure, former Mongols bikie and professional boxer Suleiman “Sam” Abdulrahim.
Police were called to Larch Street in May over a drive-by shooting and failed attempt on Abdulrahim’s life.
Detectives will investigate if there are any links to a suspicious fire at a Port Melbourne hairdresser on Monday morning.
Emergency services were called to the Bay Street fire at about 1.30am to reports a car crashed through the salon.
The car and shop have been totally destroyed by fire.
A person living above the store fled the building and was not injured but two small children from a neighbouring home were taken to hospital for possible smoke inhalation.
Police have been told a person was seen running from the scene.
There were also fires in Richmond and Patterson Lakes overnight.
It is believed a man set fire to his apartment, which spread to four others, in the Richmond fire at about 9.15pm on Sunday.
The 37-year-old was arrested at the scene and will be interviewed about the alleged arson.
A disused retirement village in Patterson Lakes then went up in flames about 1.20am on Monday.
It has also been deemed suspicious.
