Crown Perth: Late night conversation leads to man’s alleged sexual assault in Rivervale

A late night conversation in Perth’s Crown entertainment complex has ended in a nightmare scenario after a man was allegedly raped inside a residence in Rivervale.

Detectives from the sex assault squad have charged a 36-year-old man in relation to the alleged sexual assault incident that occurred Monday.

Police report that the male victim and his friend were at Crown Perth when they were approached by the accused, who is unknown to them.

The three males sparked up a conversation and at about 1:50am the three departed the complex and attended the accused’s property in Rivervale.

Police allege that the victim was then sexually assaulted, and when he tried to depart, he was threatened with a knife.The victim’s friend was outside the house at the time of the incident when he was alerted by the victim.

The friend then reportedly assisted the victim in fleeing the area before they called police. A short time later, police attended and the accused was apprehended.

The alleged 36-year-old offender has been charged with multiple offences including: sexual penetration without consent, armed robbery and deprivation of liberty.

He is next due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court next Monday.
