Driver killed as car and truck collide in Jarrahdale, southeast of Perth

A young driver has been revealed as the victim of a fatal crash involving a car and truck towing water tanks in an old timber town southeast of Perth on Friday.

The crash occurred outside a service station at the intersection of South Western Hwy and Jarrahdale Rd in Jarrahdale just before 9am.

The 17-year-old male driver sustained critical injuries when his green Ford Fiesta hatchback collided with a Hino truck towing a trailer.

The teen died from his injuries at the scene.

There was a massive emergency services response, with police, the Department of Fire and Emergency Services and a number of ambulances called to the scene.

South Western Hwy was closed in both directions between Karnup Rd and Watkins Rd.

It has since been reopened.
