Two children have been taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Perth’s northern suburbs.

Police said they were called to the scene on Amberton Avenue, Girrawheen, about 5.15pm on Wednesday after reports that two children had been hit by a four-wheel-drive.

It is understood the children, eight and 11, had been riding bicycles.

A St John WA spokesperson confirmed one child was taken to Perth Children’s Hospital.

The driver is assisting police with inquiries.
