Two teenagers have been charged over a stabbing attack in Karrinyup that left two men with critical injuries.

Mirrabooka detectives have charged the boys — both aged 16 — with one count each of aggravated armed robbery and two counts of grievous bodily harm after the incident unfolded about 2.30pm on Sunday.

Police will allege that the 16-year-old boys were armed with knives when they went to Northgate Street in Karrinyup as part of a prearranged meeting with two 18-year-old men who were in a vehicle.

“It will be alleged the two offenders threatened the two male victims,” police said in a statement on Monday.

“During the altercation, one of the 18-year-old victims sustained a stab wound to his abdomen and the other 18-year-old victim sustained slash wounds to his left wrist and thigh.

“Both victims were conveyed to Royal Perth Hospital with critical injuries.

“One of the offenders allegedly grabbed a bag containing cannabis from the victim’s vehicle before both offenders fled down an alleyway between Northgate Street and Edmondson Crescent.”

Police will allege information received from members of the public helped them arrest the two alleged offenders.

One was taken into custody at the Jackson Wilding Reserve and the other was arrested after he was found hiding in a bush on Edmondson Crescent allegedly in possession of the cannabis stolen from the vehicle.

The two 16-year-old boys, one from Doubleview and the other from Karrinyup, are due to appear before the Perth Childrens Court on Monday.
