Kununurra: Woman indecently assaulted near Victoria Highway on Boxing Day, police seeking footage

Detectives are on the hunt for a man who indecently assaulted a woman near a highway in Kununurra.

Police said the woman was crossing a walkway betwen Victoria Highway and Casuarina Way on Boxing Day when she was approached by an unknown man about 6.10am.

“The man touched the woman in an inappropriate manner, and ran off when the woman screamed,” a police spokesman said.

Kununurra detectives are investigating the incident and are seeking footage of vehicles or people in the area from between 5am and 7.30am on December 26.

Anyone with CCTV, dash-cam or mobile phone vision taken in the locations of Causarina Way, Bossea Street, Water Lily Place and Victoria Highway near Weaber Plain Road is of particular interest to investigators.
