Police investigating after body of unidentified man found near Marlboro Road in Swan View

A major police investigation is underway in Perth's northeast.

The discovery of a body in a creek in Perth’s northeast is being treated as suspicious, WA Police have confirmed.

The man was found by a member of the public near Marlboro Road in Swan View about 11am on Thursday.

Dozens of police and forensic officers have been at the scene trying to piece together what’s happened.

A resident has told 7NEWS the dead man owned a unit less than 100 metres from where the body was found.

The man has not yet been formally identified.

“It is not known how long the deceased man had been at that location, and the circumstances surrounding his death are being investigated,” police said in a statement.

“At this time, the man’s death is being treated as suspicious until it can be determined otherwise.”

Major Crime detectives are investigating and have appealed for information from people in the area on Wednesday or Thursday morning.
